Anna Needs Some Help Today

Anna Needs Some Help Today

Imagine being an air-traffic controller, without enough runways, landing planes all day, every day…They… keep… coming…   heeeEEELP!!

  WE NEED SOME HEROES!!

I’ll get back to this, but first…

Let me introduce to you Anna Keener!

She is at the tip of the spear for David’s Tent.

Anna grew up in Albania (her parents were missionaries) then lived in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. After completing her Discipleship Training School (DTS) and staffing in YWAM Charlotte, she came to DC in 2015.

No one is counting, but it’s highly probable that she has lead worship at the tent more hours than any other. She has been faithful!

She also wears a lot of hats…

.

Currently, Anna is on night watch…
(midnight-6am) and either leading worship or present onsite every night. Besides this, she is the Tent Scheduler! That’s like the pitcher in baseball or quarterback in football or an air-traffic controller….

Each week, she weaves the David’s Tent schedule together to be sure someone is ministering to Jesus and (at least) 3 staff members are present, every hour, every day. She builds the schedule around the State Week teams and finds a way to fill in the rest… somehow…

Right now, Anna’s job is super high-pressure because the hours keep coming and there’s not always enough volunteers to take their stand.

She sure could use some heroes….

First, let me say, you’d never know about this pressure if you stopped in at the tent!

It’s all amazing there! God’s presence and peace is so easily known.

Did You Know…?
We have a Facebook group called “David’s Tent Local Heroes” where Anna posts the most needed gaps each week. A SPECIAL THANK YOU if you’re one of our heroes!

But truth be told, much of the schedule has fallen on our full-time YWAM staff who are currently onsite 8hrs a day (besides responsibilities back at our mission’s base). We are fighting for each sacrificial hour and Anna is in the dead center of that mayhem.

Thankfully, we have a relational base of local volunteer staff and worship leaders from the DC region. However, our small team simply cannot do what the Lord has called a nation to do with excellence.

If we only had more heroes…

So… Can you be a Hero? Can you help take pressure off Anna and our whole community?

Here are 3 Ways You Can Help:

1. The 50 State delegation teams have been small during the winter. Please help us rally your state for your week. If your delegated week doesn’t work with your schedule, then come another week.

Sign Up for Your State Week

2. Our full-time DC residential staff team that was once over 40 people is now down to less than 20. Please consider moving to DC and jumping in with us for a season as a full-time volunteer.

– OR –

3. We’d like to expand our relational pool of DC, Maryland, Virginia worship leaders and local volunteers. Part-time is helpful! Let us know if you can be counted with “David’s Tent Local Heroes.”

For information, housing options, staff, worship leader and volunteer applications, please email Anna at   volunteer@davidstentdc.org
We need your help to revive the vision of David’s Tent DC. Over the past 4 years, the newness and romance of the vision may have worn off a little. Many of the first wave of volunteers have moved on…

But Jesus is still worthy! We still love Him! We need America to rally to David’s Tent and have a revival of the vision!

We want to keep going! FOUR! MORE! YEARS! And then some more…

We Think God is Up to Something on Capitol Hill

We Think God is Up to Something on Capitol Hill

Did you ever look at the events surrounding your life and suddenly have that wide-eyed revelatory moment, “God is up to something!”? I just had one of those. I want to be sure to give a report on what’s happening on Capitol Hill on January 1, 2020. A wild inter-generational convergence is happening in a synergy of prayer.

The Holy Spirit is raising up a second 24/7 prayer watch in DC, to harmonize with David’s Tent, which will begin at midnight, at the beginning of 2020. The location of this next watch is as significant as the National Mall has been to Davids Tent.

You have to hear this God-story!!! His-story is being made. I don’t want you to miss this next part of the journey. Read the full blog post here.

This will double the stewardship of the YWAM community that has been door-keeping for Davids Tent DC for the past 7 years.  Thank you for supporting us so graciously in the trenches! This will stretch us, but with all of you in our corner, and God leading the charge, we are excited to see what breakthroughs are coming.

May the fire on the altar never go out!

Happy Thanksgiving from Capitol Hill

Happy Thanksgiving from Capitol Hill

Happy Thanksgiving from the Tabernacle of David in Washington DC!

A governmentally sanctioned holiday to celebrate and give thanks to God is not something to take for granted. I look forward to the day that our government codifies a perpetual 24/7 lamp of worship and prayer to the Lord like David did as King. Jesus is worthy.

For now…  it’s grassroots. This Thanksgiving, I’m thanking God for the thousands of people that have given their offering of worship, talent, time, service and money to Davids Tent over the years. It’s taken a nation to bring forth this 50 State perpetual memorial of thanks to Jesus in our Capital.

You are the glory. The glory cloud of witnesses that have surrounded Davids Tent DC on earth, I’m sure makes the heavenly cloud of witnesses thankful too.

May God hear OUR prayer offered with thanksgiving and heal our land.

Thank you Jesus for all!

Friends, the whole DavidsTentDC Team in Washington DC gives you our all, with a heart of Thanksgiving!

That’s What I’m Saying…

That’s What I’m Saying…

It’s Oklahoma week!

-Next week is New Jersey.
-Last week, Michigan week, we made the tent a bit smaller for the winter, reconfigured the stage and brought in the heaters.
-Impeachment hearings and 24 hour worship to Jesus are simultaneous spiritual realities in DC this week.
-As impeachment becomes frequented word in DC, chart topping record by Kanye West is released in America entitled “Jesus is King.” Ironic.  The lead off track, “Every Hour,” is a song about singing every hour, second and millisecond until the power of the Lord comes down.

THATS WHAT I’M SAYIN! That’s Davids Tent! Thank you to all who have taken part in this!

Things are clearly being stirred in the United States. It’s time to throttle up David’s Tent like never before. Be sure to not miss your states week in 2020. It’s important that every state is well represented before the Lord. We don’t want to do this without you.

The next Davids Tent Discipleship Training School (DTS) starts January 9, 2020. You are invited! Every young person should take a GAP year for training and missions. May the youth of America rise to take their place on the walls of intercession and in global missions.

And my wife Kimberlee gave birth to our newest little girl, Arrow Hope, this past week. We have much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving!

Our next DTS training school is January 9-May 31 2020.

All Tribes DC is Happening Now

All Tribes DC is Happening Now

Friday, Nov 8, 9-5 pm
AllTribesDC IS HAPPENING NOW!

COME ON DOWN TO THE TENT TODAY.  ALL TRIBES IS RUNNING TILL 5P

The new floor came just in time for AllTribesDC!  This Friday, November 8 from 9am-5pm Davids Tent will be hosting AllTribesDC for the second year in a row. Last year over 300 people from over 40 First Nation tribes from North America gathered in DC for this wonderful day of worship and prayer.

Indigenous people have a unique governmental authority over the land where they were the first to live.  Acts 17 declares that God appoints the times and places we live so that we might seek and find Him. There is something unique about the geographic realities of where we live that create the perfect petri dish to cause us to seek Him and then also find Him!  The people and their land go hand in hand. As the First Nations of our continent are brought into the fullness of their destiny in Jesus, so will the rest of us.

I have noticed that since the Native Americans brought their blessing and prayers of establishment over Davids Tent, we have not had to move the tent since!  The first several years of Davids Tent were riddled with constant interruptions to move the tent to different locations on the mall by the ever-shifting realities of the National Park Service.  It now seems that David’s Tent has come to a resting place at our current location. I can only attribute that to the blessing of the Lord that was brought uniquely by AllTribesDC last year. I felt that after 3 years of pre-gathering 24/7/365, that AllTribesDC actually brought the final commissioning to David’s Tent last year!

For all those that hunger for revival in America, I want to encourage you to join AllTribesDC at Davids Tent this Friday.  This gathering will be a watershed moment of governmental blessing for all of the United States, simply by merit of the authority they carry, with the purest of hearts of love for the Lord Jesus.

Our next DTS training school is January 9-May 31 2020.

Karie Jobe at DavidsTentDC

Don’t forget! We have a special night at Davids Tent
this coming weekend…

Sunday, Oct 27, 6-8:30 pm
Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes
An Evening of Worship & Praise

A worshipful procession leading up to Together2020 next June.

Also, November 9-15 is a critical week that I’d like to ask for extra worship leaders and servant volunteers. Please help us build from “family.”

As many of you know David’s Tent is primarily supported by a full-time staff of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) DC.  Each year In November, all the YWAM bases on the East Coast come together for a family gathering of sorts, to be mutually encouraged by the joy of being together. The YWAM DC team has not been able to attend this once-a-year annual family gathering for the past 7 years due to the nature of pioneering the tent. We are beginning to feel the disconnect and we don’t like it.

This year,  I’d like to be able to send as many of our team as possible pending the tent being carried by others. I personally will be staying close to home in DC due to the pending delivery of our next child but would love to send the rest. Can you help me do this? Staying connected to our YWAM family is super important to us. For all the volunteer details email: volunteer@davidstentdc.org

It’s also the week that we will be deconstructing and reconstructing the tent to get it reset for winter. All hands on deck!

Our next DTS training school is January 9-May 31 2020. Get all the Info HERE.

Help us mobilize, forward this email to others!

STATE DELEGATIONS FOR 24/7/365/2020

Our goal is to see Davids Tent USA grow even more into the stature that God has intended in 2020.  Specifically, I’m praying that the state delegation weeks would mature into each state fully adopting 24 hours for 7 days in 2020!  I can’t explain it, other than to say that my insides are burning for more worship and prayer in DC than ever before, but also in unity as a whole nation.  Please help us mobilize each state to take their “spot on the wall” so to speak in 2020.

200 Baptized at David’s Tent

200 Baptized at David’s Tent

Two days after we celebrated the 4th anniversary of 24/7/365, nearly 200 people were baptized in a 15 foot round, 4 feet deep swimming pool at Davids Tent. The N. Georgia Revival Team served the tent by facilitating this incredible ministry time. There were those that were walking unexpectedly down the mall that ran into Jesus for the first time, repented and were baptized all in one day!

Many others testified of physical healings, and fresh heart touches of the Lord that weekend.

If you haven’t heard about the North Georgia Revival, check it out here.

Our Need for a New Generator This Winter

A big “THANK YOU” to all who have given towards the David’s Tent over the years. And to those most recently who have given toward the purchase of a new generator to help us go another 3 years!

We’ve seen about 15% generously given of our goal of $65,000 to purchase a 65kwt ($1/watt!) generator and two new heaters. You can help us celebrate our next 3 years (since we just had our first 3 ear anniversary) by giving toward the new generator.

Please keep praying for us to see Davids Tent DC equipped well to go into the next winter.
